Savebase for Data analysts

Bookmark manager for data analysts

Keep the methodology behind the number.

A chart is only as useful as the definition, dataset and method behind it. Savebase is a bookmark manager for data analysts collecting public datasets, measurement discussions and worked examples. Keep the source and caveats together so the next analysis begins with a documented reference instead of a half-remembered chart.

From save to useful reference

A workflow for data analysts

Notes ↗

Annotate definitions and known caveats

Record the dataset's geography, period, unit and definition in a note. Flag whether a source describes a correlation, experiment or forecast. Searchable context helps you distinguish two similarly named measures and prevents an old bookmark from being reused as though its assumptions matched your new question.

Google Sheets integration ↗

Maintain a source inventory in Sheets

Sync saved references to the Google Sheet created by Savebase. Use the exported titles, URLs, tags and notes to support a source inventory alongside your analysis. The integration moves library records into Sheets; it does not fetch the underlying datasets or run calculations for you.

Video transcripts ↗

Make methods videos easier to revisit

Request transcripts for supported saved videos so spoken explanations become searchable. Keep a note identifying the relevant method and example. When you apply a technique, check the equations or code against the original recording and documentation rather than treating a transcript as a verified implementation.

Start with one real project.

A small, annotated collection is a useful place to begin.

Savebase quick start →
  1. 1

Create a folder for the analysis question and tag sources by method and dataset.

  2. 2

Add the population, time period and measurement caveat to each key reference.

  3. 3

Sync your source inventory to Sheets before drafting the analysis narrative.

Keep your library useful as it grows.

Bring existing references through browser import or Pro file imports. Keep a portable record through JSON export.

JSON export includes active saved records and their notes, tags and folder names. It contains media URLs, not media files, and currently omits transcripts and automation settings.

Duplicate cleanup scans currently loaded posts, keeps the oldest record and permanently removes newer duplicates without merging their notes. Review the scan before confirming removal. See duplicate cleanup guidance.

Choose the plan for your workflow

Free includes any 2 of the 11 supported social platforms, up to 100 social posts, 5 folders and unlimited ordinary web links. Notes, manual tags, per-post reminders, JSON export and direct browser-bookmark import through the extension are included.

Pro unlocks all 11 social platforms, unlimited social posts and folders, dashboard file imports, on-demand AI Bulk Tagging, read-only ChatGPT/MCP access, Notion and Google Sheets sync, RSS, rules, webhooks, media backup and video transcripts.

Media backup must be enabled and successfully fetch eligible Instagram, Facebook, Threads or TikTok media. Request video transcripts when needed; new saves are not automatically transcribed.

Where Savebase fits in your work

Use Savebase for your methodology and source library. It complements notebooks, BI tools and data catalogs rather than managing data lineage itself.

Common questions from data analysts

Does Savebase download or analyze datasets?

Savebase organizes links and the notes you attach to them. A bookmarked dataset page is a reference, not a hosted copy of the dataset or a notebook execution environment. Download data and run analysis with your normal tools.

Can I search for a methodology I saved?

Yes. Use titles, captured post content and searchable notes to find a reference. Add the method's name and the problem it addresses when saving, then use folders and tags to distinguish conceptual reading from examples you have actually reproduced.
