Savebase for Newsletter writers

Bookmark manager for newsletter writers

Give next week's issue a source queue you can trust.

Newsletter curation is a sequence of decisions: discover a link, decide why it matters and fit it into an issue. Savebase gives newsletter writers a home for that source queue. Separate recurring topic research from this week's shortlist, with notes that explain what your readers should take away from each reference.

From save to useful reference

A workflow for newsletter writers

RSS subscriptions ↗

Bring selected publications into your queue

Subscribe to the RSS or Atom feeds you actually read and give each feed a topic tag. New articles arrive as saves rather than another inbox subscription to scan. Keep the watchlist selective so the incoming queue still represents an editorial choice instead of every article in your niche.

Save selected text ↗

Keep the passage behind your editorial angle

Select a useful passage on a webpage and choose Save highlight to Savebase from the context menu. The passage becomes its own saved record with the original URL and a text fragment that compatible browsers can use to return to it. Add a note explaining the reader benefit and caveat, so drafting starts from both the source words and your editorial angle.

Email reminders ↗

Review the shortlist before sending

Set reminders for the deeper reading that must happen before your issue deadline and enable email notifications. Verify the source and date before summarizing it for readers. A reminder creates a reading checkpoint; it does not schedule or send the newsletter.

Keep your library useful as it grows.

Bring existing references through browser import or Pro file imports. Keep a portable record through JSON export.

JSON export includes active saved records and their notes, tags and folder names. It contains media URLs, not media files, and currently omits transcripts and automation settings.

Duplicate cleanup scans currently loaded posts, keeps the oldest record and permanently removes newer duplicates without merging their notes. Review the scan before confirming removal. See duplicate cleanup guidance.

Free includes any 2 of the 11 supported social platforms, up to 100 social posts, 5 folders and unlimited ordinary web links. Notes, manual tags, per-post reminders, JSON export and direct browser-bookmark import through the extension are included.

Pro unlocks all 11 social platforms, unlimited social posts and folders, dashboard file imports, on-demand AI Bulk Tagging, read-only ChatGPT/MCP access, Notion and Google Sheets sync, RSS, rules, webhooks, media backup and video transcripts.

Media backup must be enabled and successfully fetch eligible Instagram, Facebook, Threads or TikTok media. Request video transcripts when needed; new saves are not automatically transcribed.

Common questions from newsletter writers

Can Savebase automatically collect newsletter sources?

RSS subscriptions can automatically save new articles from feeds you select, with chosen tags and folders. You still decide which items belong in an issue and verify what they say. Savebase does not automatically produce a researched editorial recommendation.

Can I export my source collection?

Yes. Savebase exports active saved posts as JSON, and paid integrations can sync records to Notion or Google Sheets. Use the exported source URLs and notes when preparing your draft in your newsletter platform.
