A better fit for what you save

Marqly alternatives for your saved library

Marqly brings semantic search, highlights, YouTube tools and MCP into a bookmark library. Savebase is our first recommendation when the priority is supported social references with email reminders, eligible media backup and connections to Notion, Sheets and automation. Compare the research routine you need rather than assuming that one AI feature decides the entire choice.

Compare preservation and retrieval separately

Finding a saved reference and keeping its media viewable are separate tasks. Marqly emphasizes semantic retrieval and browser reading tools. Savebase adds eligible social media backup on four platforms and supported video transcripts. Decide which source types and review habits actually determine usefulness in your work.

Check the route from a save to your working tools

Try how a reference reaches a project folder, a review reminder and the document where you use it. Both products offer AI-tool connections. Notion or Sheets integration, rule-based filing and webhook routing can be meaningful choices when your library needs to support a specific process.

When keeping Marqly makes sense

Keep Marqly if semantic retrieval, persistent webpage highlights, its YouTube reading tools or Teams are the defining requirements. Savebase does not claim those as equivalent built-in features.

Moving to Savebase

Move a selected set of original reference URLs

Savebase file import option: Text / URL list

Dashboard imports of app exports, bookmark HTML files and text URL lists require Pro. Direct browser-bookmark import through the extension is available on Free and flattens the browser folder tree. Keep the original export and test a small batch: reused URLs can merge tags and folder memberships, and incoming non-empty notes can replace existing notes.

  1. 1

Retain an export if one is available in your current Marqly account, keeping its original format as a separate backup.

  2. 2

Collect the original URLs you want in Savebase into a text file, one URL per line.

  3. 3

Use Savebase's Text / URL list importer, check the preview and rebuild project context through notes, tags and reminders.

Savebase has no native Marqly workspace importer. A URL list does not transfer webpage highlights, semantic indexes, saved AI chats, shared-team settings or stored page captures.

JSON export includes active saved records and their notes, tags and folder names. It contains media URLs, not media files, and currently omits transcripts and automation settings.

Questions about Marqly alternatives

Why choose Savebase as a Marqly alternative?

Choose Savebase when your main task is using supported social references again: notes, email reminders, eligible media backup and integration with your existing research process. Keep Marqly on the shortlist when its semantic search and browser reading tools are central to your requirements.

Does Savebase provide semantic search and webpage highlighting?

Savebase lets you select webpage text and save it as a separate highlight record with the original URL and a browser text fragment. Compatible browsers can return to that passage. Library search covers captured content, notes and available transcripts with field filters; Pro adds read-only AI-tool access. This differs from built-in semantic retrieval and a persistent colored annotation layer on the original webpage.
